Blessed but "Why me"?

These 2 girls bring me such immense joy. Their beautiful spirits, bright smiles and endless energy make my life so full! It is so easy to question God when terrible events happen to us, but do we ever stop to ponder "why me" concerning the blessings in our lives? Why did he choose imperfect me to mother these sweet girls? Why are we blessed with healthy children when others are not so fortunate? Why are we so overwhelmingly lucky to live in a country where freedom is a right and millions of men and women in our history have given their lives to preserve it? Why am I so blessed? I hope to count my blessings more in 2009 and measure my losses/failures less. Why? Because I want the Lord above to see my gratitude for the joy he has placed in my heart and my life. That will be my thanks back to him. Happy 2009!!PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

Going Once....Holiday spots!

Back by popular demand, I have decided to take just a couple of appointments the day after Christmas to capture the extended families who are in town celebrating together.  I will accept on a first come, first serve basis, a few extended family spots for those of you who want them.  I can suggest locations, clothing options, etc.  Call or e-mail quick because these few spots won't last long.  Have a blessed and peaceful Christmas!PhotobucketPhotobucket

Timeless Treasure

What an honor to photograph "S" (otherwise known as Gigi) and her grandson, "C" today.  Capturing love that spans the generations is such a joy for me.  I can't help but wonder if someday, these images will be shown at C's wedding, hung in S's home for all her friends to see or sitting on C's father's desk at work where he can fondly see both his own handsome son and his beloved mother in one shot.  Creating timeless treasures for families like this is what I love.  Oh, and just because C is 7 inches taller (and now my height) than when I shot him last, doesn't make him the boss of me :)  I still have the big camera!  Merry Christmas to all.

Part 2

I had so much fun editing this gallery that I had to share more of little "A"'s pictures.  Isn't she the cutest thing??  Downtown Waxhaw made a great backdrop for some wonderful holiday photos.  Just makes me smile :)

Merry and bright

Oh, how I love these images!!  I have been "off" for 3 weeks so it was great to get behind my camera again.  Little "A" was the perfect subject too.  She giggled, danced, and laughed throughout the session and Mom and Dad did pretty well too :)  I know they will make some beautiful Christmas cards out of these shots.  Enjoy!  It was a delight to work with  your family.

New for 2009

Introducing proof sheets for my clients!!

As promised, beginning in January, clients will have more control over choosing which images I edit, post in the on-line gallery and include in the CD.  Following your session, I will mail the proof sheet to your home.  Then you can choose as few or as many images as you would like.  I am excited to offer this product to my clients and can't wait to get feedback from my first January families.

Giving Thanks....

to the 28 families, 9 bride/groom pairs and nearly 150 preschool children I was able to photograph this fall.  Whew!  I am still digging out of the madness but I am so grateful to all of you for allowing me to photograph your beautiful children, families and gorgeous weddings.  This fall also marked the one year anniversary for my business and it is still an overwhelming blessing to me.  I had no idea God would bless my efforts and continue to expand my company in such a tremendous way.  I have been honored to work with so many generous, loving, and enjoyable clients this year and I hope to continue these great relationships for many seasons to come.

Now, before I leave you with some favorite fall images, I wanted to tell you about some upcoming business changes in 2009.  After lots of client feedback, I will be selecting gallery images differently.  Beginning in January, I will send each family a proof book with roughly 100 of our best images from the shoot.  Then you can hand-pick the images you want on your gallery and CD and have greater control over the finished product.  Prices will not change significantly either which is a win/win for everyone.  I hope to hear from you all again in 2009!
